The Field Training Officer: Developing Excellence

Event Description

The Field Training Officer is one of the most important links to success for new employees and the organization. These officers act as informal supervisors and, at the same time, need to be expert instructors entrusted to train, coach, mentor, inspire and develop effective street officers to serve our communities.

Our interactive program is designed to indoctrinate seasoned officers in this new position by adapting management theory and principles of learning and understanding how to apply it to this function. New FTO’s will be able to cultivate exemplary street officers and future leaders as we re-calibrate the seasoned officer’s priorities and focus on training, addressing performance, building confidence and documentation of all aspects of the new employee.
