Course Description
Hidden in Plain Sight: Human Trafficking Interdiction is a one-day investigative training course designed to help law enforcement officers recognize, investigate, and disrupt human trafficking operations operating within their communities.
Human trafficking is not limited to major metropolitan areas. These crimes occur in small towns, residential neighborhoods, hotels, massage businesses, truck stops, online platforms, and along interstate corridors—often hidden in environments officers encounter every day.
This course provides attendees with practical, field-driven instruction focused on identifying trafficking indicators, understanding how trafficking networks operate, recognizing victim behaviors, and building prosecutable criminal cases. Students will gain insight into the methods traffickers use to recruit, control, transport, and exploit victims while learning investigative approaches that can be immediately applied in patrol and investigative assignments.
Through real-world case studies and investigative breakdowns, attendees will learn how to recognize criminal patterns commonly associated with sex trafficking, labor trafficking, online prostitution operations, Latino brothels, Asian massage parlors, and child sex trafficking investigations.
Course topics include:
-Sex and labor trafficking investigations
-Human trafficking indicators during patrol encounters
-Child sex trafficking recognition and response
-Online prostitution and trafficking advertisements
-Latino brothel and Asian massage parlor investigations
-Victim-centered and trauma-informed approaches
-Search warrants, subpoenas, and investigative legal tools
-Single-party consent recording techniques
-Building prosecutable trafficking cases
-Network-based interdiction strategies
This course is built for patrol officers, investigators, narcotics units, interdiction teams, supervisors, prosecutors, and task force personnel seeking actionable investigative skills—not just awareness training.
