Description
This intensive 8-hour course is designed to develop confident, capable K9 trainers
ready to build and maintain high performing canine teams. Led by veteran K9
instructor Tony LoRusso and experienced law enforcement trainers, the program
combines classroom instruction with hands-on practical application in real-world
scenarios. Topics include obedience, building and area search, tracking and hard
surface tracking, criminal apprehension, detection work, scenario-based training,
FDLE certification standards, remediation, safety practices, and instructor
development.
Students should be prepared for physical activity, practical teaching assignments,
and performance-based evaluations. Mandatory attendance is required, along with
an 85% written exam score and 100% proficiency in practical demonstrations
