About Mike Montgomery
Mike Montgomery initially stepped into the legal arena in May 2011 as a 711 Intern with the Kendall County (IL) Public Defender’s Office. Mike earned his JD from the University of Iowa College of Law in May 2012, and was sworn in as a licensed attorney in November of 2012.
After a brief stint in private practice, Mike joined the Dekalb County (IL) Public Defender’s Officer where he practiced as a Misdemeanor Assistant Public Defender for a little over a year, after which he moved to the Kendall County (IL) Public Defender’s Office as a Felony Assistant.
After nearly nine years as a practicing attorney, Mike was sworn in as a Police Officer with the West Chicago Police Department in September 2021. In August 2023 Mike assumed the rank of Detective, which he currently holds.
In addition to his JD, Mike holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois. Mike lives in Yorkville with his wife Sarah and son Will and enjoys vacationing with his family in Northern Michigan.
Mike currently delivers, “1st Amendment Auditors” as well as “4th Amendment: Updated Search & Seizure“.
