About Michael Ambrosio
Michael Ambrosio is a 26-year law enforcement veteran currently serving as a Detective with the Greensboro Police Department in Greensboro, North Carolina. Since 2011, he has been assigned to the department’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and serves on the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation’s Fugitive and Missing Person Task Force, as well as the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Law Enforcement Technology and has earned the North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate through the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission.
Throughout his career, Michael has completed more than 4,000 hours of specialized training in disciplines including vehicle close-quarters battle (CQB), high-risk warrant service, cell phone forensics, cellular and social media records analysis, and fugitive operations. His professional experience spans multiple assignments, including Patrol Officer, Criminal Investigator, SWAT Operator, K9 Handler, Gang Unit Detective, and Fugitive Investigator.
Michael has been formally recognized by his agency for both operational performance and instructional contributions, including being awarded the Medal of Valor in 2023. He is a certified North Carolina Law Enforcement General Instructor and Specialized Driving Instructor, with certifications in Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) and Mobile Roadblock instruction and program development. He also serves as the lead instructor for Building Search and High-Risk Vehicle Stops within his agency’s academy and in-service training programs.
In addition to instruction, Michael has contributed to policy development in key operational areas, including equipment selection, police pursuit driving, vehicle-based arrest techniques, fugitive operations, and weapon light implementation.
In 2013, Michael founded 201TACSolutions, LLC to share his operational knowledge and experience with other law enforcement professionals. His mission is to assist agencies in developing effective fugitive apprehension units while delivering proven, real-world tactics that enhance officer performance and safety.
Since its founding, more than 2,800 federal, state, and local law enforcement officers have attended his training programs. His current assignment continues to provide access to advanced training in fugitive operations, small team tactics, and cellular and social media exploitation. His daily operational involvement ensures that the instruction delivered through 201TACSolutions remains current, relevant, and grounded in real-world application.
