About Chief Larry Horak (Ret.)
Lawrence (Larry) Horak retired as Chief of Police for the Margate (FL) Police Department after a career that began in 1980 and included service as an FBI Special Agent investigating violent crime, civil rights violations, and public corruption. A graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Southern Police Institute, he holds a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University. Since 2001, Larry has taught internal affairs courses, launched FBI-LEEDA’s Internal Affairs
seminar, and presented for IACP, NIAIA, and FIAIA. He also serves as a licensed private investigator, expert witness, and consultant in agency accountability and administrative practices.
