Description

Most crisis calls go wrong because someone rushes. This 1-day course teaches officers how to slow a crisis down, manage their own stress and communicate with people in crisis. It is taught by a former Crisis Negotiations Team Leader through real incidents, and it is built for any officer as well as new negotiators.

What your officers will learn:
- Beyond the Academy: why rushing is the central error, and the high-risk factors
- Managing Your Own Stress: control your arousal and use tone, rate and inflection
- Communicating in Crisis: the Behavioral Influence Stairway, active listening and verbal contracts
- Time as a Tool: lower arousal and engage difficult or silent subjects
- The Team Structure: the 4 team positions and the surrender plan
- Case Review and Debrief: real incidents, what worked, what broke down, and why

Who should attend: any officer, and new negotiators.

Instructor: Rich Rodriguez, Founder & Lead Instructor, Polished Badge.

Colorado Launch Rate: $125 per officer through June 30, 2027 (regular price $175).
