Description
Aeromed is proud to be the 1st in the State of Florida providing K9 treatment and transport to Law Enforcement K9s. Our classes were developed following the latest guidelines from TCCC (which is the military version of K9 care). We provide these classes free of charge to your agency. We come to you, mitigating the need for travel. Classes are usually scheduled for 4 hours.
The class includes classroom training followed by hands-on instruction with our K9 simulator. The class covers the following items:
Florida Statue 401.254
K9 safety and handling
Basic anatomy
Shock/Hemorrhage control including tourniquets, wound packing, and bandaging
K9 airway, breathing and circulation
K9 CPR
Heat Emergencies
GVD
Overdoses
Envenomation
Traumatic Injuries
Dispatch considerations and landing zone requirements
Discussion related to what supplies should be carried and what supplies should be available in the officer’s vehicle
Once the initial training has been completed, we also offer scenario-based training to put it all together in a real-world environment.
