Nicholas Jones is a former United States Marine Staff Sergeant, Purple Heart recipient, and retired Riverside County Sheriff’s Investigator with over 24 years of combined military and law enforcement experience. During his career, he served in patrol, burglary and auto theft task forces, special teams, and the Central Homicide Unit. His operational experience includes multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as investigative assignments involving violent crime and criminal behavior.
Nicholas is the developer of The Sentinel Method, an 8-hour behavior-based training program that teaches officers how to identify anomalies, articulate reasonable suspicion through observable behavior, reduce decision-making bias, and make more confident, legally defensible enforcement decisions. His instruction combines real-world experience with practical, immediately applicable techniques that improve officer safety, report writing, courtroom testimony, and community trust.
