About Adrian Arnold

Major Arnold has served the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office for 28 years. He is currently assigned as the commander of the Judicial Operations Bureau. Major Arnold is responsible for the Court Security, Civil Process, Misdemeanor Probation, Warrants and FAQ DUI Impounds/Immobilization. Major Arnold is responsible for 300 assigned personnel and the fiscal management of 30 million dollar budget. He was previously assigned as a captain in the Human Resources Bureau. In his Human Resources position, Major Arnold is responsible for the employment and recruitment functions for the entire agency. He previously served as the divisional commander of the Court Security Division within the Judicial Operations Bureau. His command encompassed seven court facilities throughout Pinellas County. As a captain, he was responsible for 300 assigned personnel and the fiscal management of a $26 million budget. He was previously assigned as the commander of the Central District Station within the Patrol Division of the Patrol Operations Bureau.

Prior to his appointment to Captain, he was assigned as the Administrative Lieutenant for the Patrol Operations Bureau. He provided oversight of the operational functions and the direct supervision of over 60 assigned personnel for contracted cities, jail perimeter deputies and the St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport. He was also a shift commander for the Central and North District Stations.

As a sergeant, he was assigned to the Human Resources Division, responsible for the coordination and direct supervision of the agency’s recruitment plan for qualified candidates. He was also responsible for applicant background investigations, applicant screening and the selection committee for civilian and certified positions. Prior to this assignment, he was a sergeant in the Patrol Operations Bureau.

While serving as a corporal, he was assigned to the Special Operations Division, Selective Traffic Enforcement Program and Traffic Units. He also served in leadership positions on the Major Accident Investigation Team. As a deputy in the Patrol Operations Bureau, he served in the Community Policing and Street Crimes Units.

Major Arnold has specialized training in Driving Under the Influence Investigations and the Drug Evaluation Classification Program. He also completed the Basic and Advanced Traffic Homicide Investigation and Traffic Reconstruction Training. Major Arnold serves as the co-chairperson on the Diversity Council for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and provided promotion preparation classes for certified supervisory candidates. In his previous assignment, he directed the transition of the Salvation Army’s Misdemeanor Probation to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, Judicial Operations Bureau which he still manages.

Major Arnold has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Springfield College and a Master of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati. He is also a graduate of the Florida Criminal Justice Executive Institute, Future Studies Program.
