Great team of Instructors.

I’ve been a sergeant coming up on 3 years, and I had to take a supervisory course per department policy. With my prior experience, there was very little new information to me. However, the value of the course for me was that it made me do a self assessment of how I’m doing the job. I’ve strayed from what I believe I should be doing with the amount of administrative tasks I have to do. This brought that to my attention, and I’m going to refocus on the basics of the job.

Was very impressed and feel much better about going into the Sergeant role after this class. Was very impressed and grateful for the instructors.

Regret is not taking it prior to being promoted. Because of this class I have a much better understanding of the liability supervisors take on.

As a newly promoted supervisor, this class assisted in putting in place principals and concepts to continue to utilize and grow with.

Very valuable class. Great to see the steps my pd has taken are in alignment with the best practices. The group discussions between the class and the instructors was the most beneficial. Wish I would have had this class prior to promotion.

The course was a comprehensive overview of law enforcement supervisory fundamentals. The instructors addressed many of the skills, traits, and behaviors becoming of a supervisor, and they did so with both theory and personal anecdotes. The class was professional, fun, and organized.

The class was easy to follow and the content was very educational. I would recommend this class for anyone, not only those wanting to be supervisors.

The course was eye opening for me not being in a supervisor role currently. Very informative. Both Steve and Phil were articulate and knowledgeable.

Excellent instruction, eye opener to some situations

The experience and knowledge from the instructors was wonderful. They were very engaging and we were able to discuss in detail a lot of issues that we all see daily. This was one of the better supervisor courses I have been to due to the interactions and case studies.

This was an excellent course on first line supervision. I will bring the principles from this class to use every day while at work. I will recommend this course to my department for all newly promoted sergeants and field training officers.

The best instruction I have ever received on the topic of supervision and leadership. Chief Henry and Captain Rizzo have a complete and total grasp of knowledge on the ever changing environment of law enforcement officers.

I have found the insight and knowledge provided in this training extremely valuable. I constantly strive to become better for my agency and the content covered will greatly help me in guiding/developing my officers. The course is truly designed to address the fundamentals of first line police supervision. Actual direction was provided on how to be effective, well rounded supervisors. All material was backed by real world examples provided by the instructors and class participants. The instructors were enthusiastic about the material and open to questions and discussion.

The course was excellent. It was nice to be taught by people who have accomplished things throughout their career. Learning from their hand on experience, things that worked and didn’t work for them.

Very good class. Each instructor was well prepared. There were specific examples given to support the class material. There weren’t any war stories with no relevance to the material. Being a new supervisor I learned a lot and validated a lot of what I’ve been doing. I generated a list of things that I now know I need to go back and look at in my policies and procedures. At no point during classes was I waiting for the class to end or felt like things dragged on.

This class was very helpful. We covered many aspects of being a first line supervisor. The instructors were knowledgeable and made the class fun to learn. I am glad I was able to attend.

This class very informative! The instructors were very knowledgeable and looking forward to taking additional courses.

Overall the class was very informative. Some subjects I felt should have been covered more indepth (ICS) while others subjects felt unnecessary for a first line supervise class (EDP/Autism).

A lot of the material presented will definitely be applicable in both my current assignment, and future positions.

Highly recommend! A must for all officers looking to make or already are Sergeant. Learn exactly how to support and lead your members.
