This is the essential supervisor course that every prospective Sergeant should attend. I was previously assigned to a different course which was poorly run and contained largely irrelevant information. This course was taught by current and former police supervisors, contained valuable leadership points, and was tailored to newly promoted supervisors.

J. Harris course was comprehensive and all instructirs had a solid grasp of material and experience being a police supervisor. I highly recommend that all soon to be promoted and current first and mid level supervisors attend this class.

Excellent for me as a new supervisor

Really enjoyed this class. The instructors have current knowledge of inner workings of police units and career ending choices.

The instructors were extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of police supervision. Many real world scenarios were presented in support of the topics covered.

This is my second time attending J. Harris Training. Again, this course did not disappoint and it was more informative than the Supervision Course that is offered at our county police academy. J. Harris goes a lot more in depth on what a Supervisor should know on his or her shift. What decisions to make, how to communicate with your officers, know your police, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who is soon becoming a supervisor.

Both instructors were very knowledgeable in the class outline. Having multiple SWAT teams in class was a plus. The open depth discussion was good. I was able to take a wealth of knowledge from this class as well from other teams in the class.

I would definitely recommend this class to other Team Leaders and commanders.

Course covers a lot of material in short time. Doesn’t force particular way/method, but hits every topic that needs to be considered for a team in training or in being established.
