I had the pleasure of attending ACP Level 1 on June 23-24 in Bennett, Nebraska. The course was taught by Marshall Luton and Jeremy Snow. Class started with a prayer (which I really appreciated) then a thorough safety brief. The safety protocols were enforced throughout the class and Marshall and Jeremy did a fantastic job of catching any infractions or potential infractions before they happened. I personally have over 240 hours of professional handgun training from various instructors, most of whom are well known in the firearms industry. This was by far the best handgun shooting class I have ever attended. If I had to summarize the overall focus of this class, I would have to say that by far the main point of the curriculum is accuracy. In my experience, accuracy often takes a backseat in pistol training to other things like proper grip, proper stance, or even the presentation from the holster. It didn't here. I highly recommend this course to shooters of all levels.

Any responsible person who carries a pistol and is serious about developing his or her skills definitely must take Advanced Combat Pistol 1 (ACP1). Marshall Luton’s world-class experience combined with skillful effective teaching make this an exceptional training course, perhaps one of the best you can find anywhere. The class alternates between in-depth explanations of a critical fundamental (for example trigger press), followed by carefully planned live-fire drills. Marshall has a eye for subtle errors, which he corrects, always in a positive encouraging manner. His objective is to make us better shooters. For example, when I thought I needed to slow down to reduce misses, he said, “No, that’s not the problem; you need to aim harder.” Our class included police officers, competitive shooters and ordinary armed citizens. It was challenging, but also very satisfying and fun. I took home many valuable pointers that I will continue practicing to take my performance to the next level.

First off thank you both for allowing me to take this class, it was such an amazing opportunity for me. I learned a lot this weekend not just about the subject matter but about my abilities, areas I need improvement, and where my gear fell short. Safety was a priority for both of you and it showed. I never felt my safety was in jeopardy during live fire even with loaded weapons stacked two deep behind me. I have always been self-conscious about my shooting abilities from an accuracy standpoint and it has kept me from taking more classes. With the atmosphere that you two cultivated, that feeling quickly went away. I realized all of us are on different parts of the journey of mastering this craft and got out of my own head. Both of you have the background and credibility to justify being (for lack of better words) assholes and in your face during training but you weren’t. You both were humble, approachable, and open to questions.
