About Jeremy Bedingfield
Detective Bedingfield has been a sworn peace officer in the State of California for over 16 years and has been employed by the San Diego Sheriff’s Office during that entire period.
Detective Bedingfield worked a variety of assignments including jails, courts, patrol, field training officer, and a couple proactive law enforcement teams. In 2015, Detective
Bedingfield was selected for the Border Crime Suppression Team (BCST), which is a task force comprised of local and federal partners. During his tenure with BCST, Detective Bedingfield investigated cross-border smuggling organizations and conducted interdiction operations. In 2020, Detective Bedingfield was assigned a single purpose narcotic detection canine, Milo. In 2025, Detective Bedingfield helped to create a HIDTA funded DHE interdiction team, the San Diego Regional Highway Interdiction Team.
Through Detective Bedingfield’s interdiction efforts, he has located hundreds of
aftermarket hidden compartments and has become a nationally recognized expert with
hidden compartments.
