About Raymond S. Williams (Retired)
Raymond Williams is a 38-year veteran of law enforcement with the Windham Police Department. He began his career in 1986. In 2009, Ray made Detective and in 2014 he was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. Ray finished his career in May of 2023, retiring as Patrol Captain. During his time with the Windham Police Department Ray created and developed the department’s first motorcycle unit.
Ray was one of the first graduates of the State’s DRE program and became a DRE Instructor in 2003. Ray has taught for many years at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy. His areas of expertise include Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, Breath Testing Device, Drug Recognition Program and Firearms Instruction and Development. In his spare time Ray enjoys Building and repairing firearms, hunting with his two bird dogs, Chloe and Teddie and fishing. Ray is a Registered Maine Fishing Guide and loves his time on Maine waters.
