The instructors were very knowledgeable and clear in providing information and clearly have an interest in the field as well as the success of the students. The course was put together in a way that worked towards building towards final scenarios which incorporated all of those elements.

It was an honor to train alongside law enforcement from different backgrounds and departments to learn the necessary skills to negotiate in crisis situations. The instructors were well-versed in this subject and confident in their presentation while maintaining a collaborative attitude with the mental health professionals. It was a great experience.

Overall great course with really good instruction.

Instructors brought not only the informative material but personal experiences and incidents they have encountered. In addition to the instructors, having a mental health team share their profession and experiences helped to reposition ourselves outside the shoes of law enforcement.

Informative course. Effective incorporation of MH. Day 2, slides 38, 39, & 40, possibly pick a different word for “Managed” in slide header.

The Course was very informative. By the end of the week it was a lot easier to put all of the pieces together in order to have a productive conversation speaking with the barricaded subjects during the practical aspect of the class. Each section of the training was broken down and explained in depth.

Course was a very informative course for those like myself who had no prior negotiating background or training. The course provided me with several tools which I plan on taking back to my department and implementing into active work and future incidents.

This is a very important training and I feel it should be used in the academy . I feel the collaborations with law enforcement and mental health providers and very important and this was very useful .

Real world, hands on training. The Instructors created an environment that encouraged learning, communication ion and collaboration. Taking away truly applicable skills.

The instructors did an excellent job preparing us for crisis negotiations, specifically by practicing techniques and strategies which culminated in a real world scenario utilizing various tools and equipment.

I think more scenarios would be helpful as well as helpful forms to be used during an incident.

The course was very informative. The instructors were well versed in the curriculum. I feel like I’m walking away a lot more confidence in my crisis negotiation skills.

The material presented was not only valuable to negotiations but to everyday police work. It was presented in a well thought out manner with enough time to get hands on and practice what was presented.

Let me start by saying all instructors were phenomenal and even though this was their first time teaching this class they knocked it out of the park.
