This comprehensive course provides step-by-step instruction on the proper initial response to major crimes or death scenes, with an emphasis on preserving the scene and thorough documentation. Students will develop the foundational skills necessary to conduct a complete and legally sound investigation, regardless of whether a crime has occurred. Through a detailed exploration of death types, investigative indicators, and local protocols, participants will be better prepared to handle complex cases. The course also covers evidence handling, witness interaction, and collaboration during the autopsy process.

This course is designed specifically for the front line first-responder to potentially suspicious death investigations and new detectives that seek to gain additional insight into complicated death scenes.
