Description
Inside The Radicalization Pipeline™ examines how individuals are exposed, recruited, groomed, and mobilized toward violence across foreign, domestic, and online threat environments, and where recognition, interruption, and prevention may be possible.
The course examines organizations and networks including ISIS, Al Qaeda, IRGC proxy networks, Hezbollah, and Hamas, alongside nihilistic violent extremists (NVEs), networks such as 764, No Lives Matter, Maniac Murder Cult, the broader Com ecosystem, and many others. Participants explore how these actors exploit grievances, polarization, identity, isolation, and the need for belonging to recruit and influence others. Particular attention is given to youth grooming and online exploitation, including how digital communities, private communications, coercion, and escalating demands can draw vulnerable individuals into harmful activity and violence.
Participants learn to recognize stages of radicalization, changes in behavior and commitment, digital reinforcement loops, and indicators of movement toward operational activity. Instruction connects these patterns to practical opportunities for documentation, information sharing, threat assessment, and intervention, while distinguishing ideology or belief from observable conduct associated with a developing threat.
Developed from nearly 30 years of law enforcement and counterterrorism experience, including firsthand exposure to forced indoctrination in the Middle East and personal experience across multiple perspectives of the radicalization process, this course takes students beyond statistics and academic theory. It provides a practical, field-grounded understanding of how individuals are recruited, groomed, and mobilized, and how informed recognition and intervention may help prevent targeted violence, mass shootings, and lone-actor attacks.
Jacksonville second session: January 28, 2027, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. No early release. Law enforcement and intelligence only. Registration deadline: January 25, 2027.
