Trauma-Informed Policing: Guardians of Resilience

The Trauma-Informed Policing Course is designed to equip law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to interact with individuals who have experienced trauma in a sensitive and empathetic manner. Recognizing the widespread impact of trauma on individuals and communities, this course aims to transform policing practices by integrating trauma-informed approaches into law enforcement interactions. In addition, this course explains the impact that trauma has on our first-responders and discusses key areas for officers and supervisory personnel to stay vigilant for to ensure vicarious and cumulative trauma doesn’t impact themselves, their loved ones, their fellow first-responders, or the public they are interacting with.
