"Next Level" Report Writing: Moving Beyond the Basics

The instructor provided a detailed breakdown of the structure and essential components of a police report, emphasizing the importance of clarity, objectivity, and conciseness. The class went through various scenarios, which included a combination of understanding case law, NJ AG’s guidelines, and officer experience. Overall, a great class. Recommended for any level officer.

Lt. was able to professionally present and provide a wealth of information. We were given examples, tips and guides for better report writing and was able to participate throughout the class. The presentation was entertaining throughout and even when a lull would arise, the presenter ensured there was never a dull moment eliminating awkward silence and blank stares. Even for being a not so new LEO, I left having learned so much and motivated to continue moving forward.

Great class. Class material is informative. I have been on the job for 22 years and I am still learning things. Bringing back more tips and better practices to my department.

I like that the course caters towards all levels of law enforcement. Myself being under a year on the job enjoyed hearing from more of the experienced officers in the class.
